Time-lapse & Hyperlapse

Here is how this works in practice. We produce timelapse and hyperlapse sequences across Austria for films, broadcast, branded content and architectural projects. Both techniques compress time — timelapse from a locked-off or motorised position, hyperlapse by moving the camera between frames over distance — and both reward careful preparation. Our crews plan exposure ramping for day-to-night transitions, manage intervalometers and motion-control heads, and protect gear left in position for hours or days.

Here is the short of it. We shoot the obvious Austrian subjects — the imperial facade of Schönbrunn, the Prater wheel, traffic on the Ringstrasse — and the more demanding ones, where a sequence must be built across several visits to capture a full seasonal or weather arc. Our team handles the location logistics from Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck. This includes the security of unattended rigs and the permits for placing gear in public and covered space.

Here is the breakdown. Austria's environment is what makes timelapse here distinctive and difficult. The alpine regions — the Grossglockner massif, the Ötztal, the Tyrolean and Vorarlberg peaks — deliver dramatic cloud and light movement but also cold that drains batteries, snow load on gear and the sudden Föhn wind that can shift conditions within a sequence.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Our crews plan cold-weather power and weatherproofing to match. Filming in UNESCO-listed areas such as Hallstatt-Dachstein, the Wachau or the historic centres of Vienna and Salzburg needs permits set up with the relevant city and Bundesland film authorities, specific for multi-day camera placement. We also advise on how extended timelapse shoot days.
