Multi-Camera Setups

Here is how this works in practice. We give multi-camera setups for live events and tricky shoots across Austria — concerts, conferences, sports, broadcasts and any production needing simultaneous coverage from several positions. A multi-camera setup is a set up system: matched cameras locked to common timecode and genlock, a switching desk, tracking, audio and the cabling and intercom that tie it together.

Here is the short of it. Our teams design the camera plan, place positions for clean coverage, and run the production through a vision-mixing setup or, for larger events, an outside-broadcast van equipped with full switching and tracking. We also give IMAG — image magnification — feeding live coverage to venue screens so audiences see close-ups of performers and speakers.

We can add live streaming and satellite uplink for broadcast distribution.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Austria's venues shape multi-camera planning. Filming inside heritage spaces — the Vienna State Opera, the Hofburg, concert halls in the UNESCO-listed centres of Vienna and Salzburg — means rigging cameras and cabling within conservation limits, cleared with the Vienna Film Commission and Bundesland authorities.

Here is the breakdown. Wireless cameras, microphones and intercom run on frequencies allocated by the RTR telecoms authority, and our teams set up them to avoid trouble in Vienna's congested broadcast environment. Our partner OB units often cover major Austrian and Central European shoots, so large events can be served at full broadcast standard.
