Here is how this works in practice. We supply VFX artists who deliver visual effects for Austrian shoots. Our VFX artists handle compositing, set extension, clean-up, CG integration and effects work for feature film, television and commercial projects, building their output into the post-prod pipeline. We brief them on your project, plates and delivery specs, then confirm openings against your post schedule. Vienna's studios and post-prod houses are equipped for high-end VFX work.

Here is the short of it. Our artists work fluently in English and German with global supervisors, whether on-site or as part of a distributed pipeline. We contract under the Kollektivvertrag terms set by the Fachverband der Film- und Musikwirtschaft within the WKO. Set up the VFX artist with the CGI artist, DIT and post-prod supervisor so effects integrate cleanly with the live-action material and land on schedule for delivery.

Here is the breakdown. Austria has a capable visual-effects sector concentrated in Vienna. The Red Bull Media House, based near Salzburg, produces sport, adventure and brand content at a high tech standard, and Terra Mater Studios applies advanced effects craft to natural-history programming — together they have built a pool of VFX and digital talent in the country. Vienna's universities of applied arts and the Filmakademie Wien feed effects, animation and digital talent into the industry. The Oesterreichisches Filminstitut and the Filmfonds Wien support shoots.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. The OeFI+ and FISA+ 30 percent rebates reward post and VFX spend in Austria. The country has hosted effects-driven shoots, from global features to the action staged at the Wiener Staatsoper for 'Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation'. Austria's central European position and the strong English of its digital community make it a practical base for global VFX work, with talent moving easily across the DACH region under EU freedom of movement.
